The CLL Story History

It all began in 1963 when David McWilliams added this new product called low voltage landscape lighting to his sprinkler control business.  At the time he had no idea that this new product would someday spawn an industry.  It was in the early 1980's when contractors from all over California began calling CLL trying to obtain products they couldn't find locally.  They called to find products or get technical advice, but soon learned they could save money through CLL. It wasn't long before contractors from across the country began calling for the same reasons.  They wanted a distributor who specialized in the product, stocked what they needed and priced it so they could be successful.  They found this in CLL and a new industry was born, the specialized landscape lighting distributor.

In the thirty years since CLL expanded to nationwide sales there have been many changes in the industry.  Manufacturers have come and gone, other distributors have tried to copy the CLL model and contractors have become more sophisticated, as they know what they want and need a supplier who understands their needs.  What hasn't changed in all these years is the CLL ability of offering its customers the best products in the industry with exceptional customer service and competitive pricing.
