Incentive Trip News

The 18th CLL Contractor Incentive Trip was held last week in the form of a seven-day cruise down the Mexican Riviera. Forty couples came together aboard the NCL Star cruise ship for some fun and relaxation. During the voyage the group visited the Mexican cities of Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta plus the CLL Olympics were held onboard ship. We'd like to thank everyone who joined us on this adventure and we hope to see everyone again real soon.

New Mini-Catalogs Available

Two new mini-catalogs from California Landscape Lighting are in the final stages of production and will be available by the end of March for distribution. The "Fusion Collection" features a variety of products from a wide range of manufacturers all brought together in a single brochure. This fusion of different styles and concepts give the designer the ability to select functional fixtures from just a single literature source. The "Environmental Masters" brochure again brings together several different manufacturers, but this time with a distinctive purpose. Each of the products shown inside the catalog were specifically selected to meet the demands of a challenging environment. The options of brass or copper or composite fixtures are all well represented in this publication. Contact our sales department to request your copy of these new mini-catalogs today.

New LED Path Lights

In the newest Kichler product catalogs released this month they announced the addition of 6 new LED path lights into their line. You can now offer a landscape lighting design that incorporates LED fixtures as up or down lights, deck lights and path lights. Your design will be aided by LED fixtures that offer a long-term savings of up to 75% less energy use over a standard 12-volt fixture and offer up 40,000 hours of operational life.

Kichler not only developed two totally new fixtures that utilize the LED technology but retrofitted four of their most popular 12 volt path light fixtures to the LED light source. You now have a choice of Kichler fixtures in aluminum and brass in a wide variety of styles and finishes. They can be artistic and carry on a theme or blend in just as well. For even more design control, several of the fixtures come with a user defined High-Low setting that further allows the designer to dial in just the amount of light they need from the path light. This is an option that is not available in your basic 12-volt incandescent or halogen path light fixture.

All these new fixtures are shown in the new Kichler catalog beginning on page 30 and will be available for purchasing in the summer of 2009.

Nightscaping Update

As many of you may have already learned, Nightscaping has recently encountered severe financial difficulties and has temporarily discontinued production. The original announcement was made on February 26th that due to cash flow problems they were halting all production and shipments as of February 29th 2009.

In following conversations with the factory we learned that they were in the process of either finding new investors or a buyer for the company. This ongoing effort appears to be continuing as of today. The factory has a small office staff still available to process orders and answer questions but no product is being manufactured or shipped. Any order placed with the factory at this time is being recorded, however there is no confirmed ship date for any item coming directly from the manufacturer.

In regards to California Landscape Lighting and our Nightscaping products, we have an ample supply on hand of all the items predetermined as stock fixtures still available. As our inventory is exhausted, replenishment will be dictated by future factory production. As a Nightscaping distributor for over 45 years we are confident that Nightscaping will soon be back in production and supplying fixtures to the industry as they have since 1959.
