Introducing Universal Lighting
We are very proud to announce the addition of Universal Lighting Systems to our list of quality outdoor lighting manufacturers. They feature a wide variety of copper and brass fixtures in an assortment of styles. These well thought out products are designed with the contractor in mind.  Each is easily installed, re-lamped and is moisture resistant. From the very beginning these fixtures were designed to avoid future service problems. In fact, the copper and brass path lights feature a custom hood support system that does not rely on the glass lens to support the top. This is a source of fixture failure in some similar manufacturer's fixtures, but not Universal's path lights.
The copper series are all spun or formed natural copper and will patina to a very attractive natural aging over time. The brass series, on the other hand are all factory finished with a chemical wash that gives the brass a uniform weathered bronze look. This allows all the brass products to instantly accent any hardscape setting as soon as they are installed. The DS3900NC shown in the image above is one of the most popular new Universal Lighting fixtures being introduced today. Constructed of rugged solid copper, it comes with a fully rotating and lockable shroud. With the rubber gasket preventing moisture intrusion the DS3900 can be installed in virtually any environment as either an uplight or downlight. To make this fixture even more useful, despite the small housing of only 5 1/2"in length, this fixture will accept an MR16 lamp up to 50 watts. This is often not an option in other similar copper accent lights.
Now for the most appealing aspect of Universal Lighting Systems and that is its affordability. When compared to other copper or brass products on the market, this line is extremely competitive. Luxxo LED MR-16 Lamps
We now have access to one of the most energy efficient LED retrofit lamps in today's market. The Luxxo from the Kumho Electric Company is a 3.4w LED MR-16 lamp that operates off any standard 12 volt AC transformer and will fit in just about any MR-16 fixture available.  The KL-60 lamp comes in either a warm white (3300k) or cool white (4500k) color temperature, both with 60-degree beam angles. The illumination output of the KL-60 easily equals the output of a standard BAB/60 MR-16 lamp and uses 83 percent less energy in doing so. These lamps are the same diameter as a standard MR-16 lamp but the body is 3/8" longer. Any fixture used would need to have that additional body length to accept the Luxxo lamp. With a lamp life of 50,000 hours and the exceptional energy savings, these LED lamps are the perfect choice for both new systems and system upgrades.
