New Wave Audio

Understanding the New Wave Audio numbering system will help you in your outdoor speaker selection process. The way this manufacturer sets up their system is fairly simple once you know the key. If the speaker number begins with a "1" then that speaker is sold individually. For example the NW-1360 is a single River Rock finished speaker (shown in the image). If you select the NW-2250 then those speakers are a Granite finish and sold in pairs.

New Luxxo LED lamp

We just received word of a new Luxxo MR16 LED lamp with a 40 degree beam spread. The new lamp now gives Luxxo a 3.4 watt lamp in both the 60 and the 40 degree range in a 2800 kelvin temperature color range.

LED rope lights

Here are a couple of installation tips that may come in handy the next time you install any LED 12 volt rope lights. The LED circuit emits light in one direction, so make sure when attaching the rope to a surface or snapping it into a track that the LED itself is facing outward. Also the driver connection requires a polarized connection. If you attach the driver to the rope and the system does not energize simply reverse the polarity of the connection and the LED's should begin to operate.

Universal Lighting Idea

This is something kind of interesting that Universal Lighting Systems does for the contractor. With each of their AF-2900WB mini-flood lights they include 3 different lenses at no additional charge. The fixture comes with a frosted glass lens installed and an extra clear and spread lens provided just in case you want to change the effect of the fixture.

The Evolution Transformer

We are extremely proud to introduce the latest California Series Transformer, the Evolution Series models. This is a totally redesigned transformer that brings to the marketplace some of the most imaginative design features found anywhere. This new series brings together over 25 years of transformer design evolution into a working model. The beauty of the complete series is that they are engineered to the highest degree without being overdone. There is no unnecessary apparatus, just a well thought out design. The flagship of the series is the EV Models. These models have everything a professional lighting contractor needs for a successful landscape lighting installation. Made of all stainless steel the EV Models come in 300, 600, 900 and 1200 watt output units. Each has a set of large terminal lugs that allow the installer to attach multiple low voltage cables with ease. You have the option of powering your system with independent runs from 11, 12, 13, 14 or 15 volt taps as needed. Better yet, future maintenance has been addressed through the use of plug-in and replaceable control devices such as timers and photo cells. By using a stainless steel case and removable control devices the EV Models come with a lifetime case warranty and 10 years on the internal transformer parts. This is not the end because the name Evolution was chosen to reflect future changes. Look for more enhancements to the series as time goes on. There are already plans to incorporate several design modifications that will make these models even more revolutionary.

More on the Evolution Transformers

You will be impressed by the EV models but now look at the SV and the CV models of the California Series, Evolution Series Transformers. Both these models are designed to fill specific niches in the landscape lighting marketplace. The SV or small version are designed and priced for those smaller systems where you just don't need excessive wattage. They come in a streamlined stainless steel case in either 75 or 150 watt units. Each features some of what the top of the line EV units offer but in a smaller scale. You can still utilize the same plug-in controls and have the option of either 12 or 13 volt output depending on your needs. These units are especially useful for those increasingly popular LED systems where the wattage demands are low. For those who prefer a conduit mount transformer, you have the CV Models to work with. Compact and efficient is the best way to describe this series of 300 and 600 watt stainless steel transformers. They feature circuit breaker protection on both the primary and secondary side of the transformer and the ability to select either 12 or 13 volt output for your low voltage circuit. Both the SV and the CV transformer models match the warranty of the EV models. You have a lifetime warranty on the case and a10 year warranty on the internal transformer parts.
